DAY 01: JAYAPURA-ARRIVAL-WAMENA (LD)
Arrival at Sentani airport of Jayapura (expected arrive by morning flight), met by our representative and then catch the Trigana flight to Wamena. Upon arrival in Wamena airport, met with our driver and then continue with short drive to hotel in Wamena. Check in and get your lunch before your tour at Jibama Market and Napua Hill. Jibama market, or Baru market as most people in the area call it, is the biggest market in Wamena, Papua, Indonesia. In here you will a local people sold a variety of fruits, vegetables, meat and others. Continue to Napua Hill, which offers a wide panoramic view of the Baliem Valley. You will see this beautiful scene close to a military checkpoint guarding the road to Lake Habbema, afterward, walking down back to the car and meet the local people on the way to your vehicles. Back to hotel for your accommodation and dinner served at hotel.
DAY 02: WAMENA – KURIMA – SOGOKMO – KURIMA – KILISE (BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, meet our guide with their team (Porter and cook), check out process and then continue with 40 minutes drive to Sogokmo for the starting point of the trekking to Kilise. Upon arrival at Sogokmo village, and prepare yourself for approximately 4 – 5 hours trekking to Kilise. Start the journey with climb the Hesegem hill to reach the Kilise village. During the trip you will see beautiful scenery, interact with local people, and see the local people activity. Upon arrival in Kilise village, explore the traditional villages and learn about the people way of life. Lunch served en-route, Dinner and overnight at local guest house of Kilise.
DAY 03: KILISE – WUSEREM (BLD)
Wake up and get your simple breakfast at the guest house. Check out process and you will continue your journey down the steep hill to reach the traditional hanging bridge. Cross the baliem river and then you will be faced by a slippery and narrow path to reach the Mugi River as our place for lunch break. While the cook makes us food, we can enjoy the natural beauty of the Mugi River. After the food is cooked, we will have lunch and then prepare to continue the journey to Wuserem. During the journey to Wuserem we will pass the Dani Garden (used for gathering) and the traditional house. After 5 hours trekking, we finally arrived at the Local people house and stay here for overnight. Dinner served at the local people house.
DAY 04: WUSEREM – WESAGALEP (BLD)
Wake up and get your simple breakfast at the house. After breakfast, prepare yourself to walk for 6 hours. Say goodbye to the host and we will walk towards the river to reach the hanging bridge. Proceeding to cross hanging bridge over Baliem River, and watch your step due the bridge is already old. Stop at the perfect place for lunch, and the cook will try to make us some good food. Eat the food, and then prepare to continue the journey to Wesagalep. Going up to the hill, make a short stop to take some good picture and passing through the small rain forest. Arrive at Wesalagep, and stay at the best possibility accommodation for overnight (Church, Teacher house or Simple Tent). Dinner served at the accommodation.
DAY 05: WESAGALEP – TANGMA (BLD)
Early wake up in the morning and then leave the accommodation for your 7 hours trekking to Tangma. The journey will continue down a very steep hill, watch your steps until you are arrive at the Baliem River. During the trip down you will see beautiful scenery, friendly local people and sweet potato fields. Stop at the perfect place nearby Baliem River for lunch, and the cook will try to make us some good food. After crossing the hanging bridge, the uphill trail leads you to Tangma village. Upon arrival at the Local people house and stay here for overnight. Dinner served at the local people house.
DAY 06: TANGMA – KURIMA – SOGOKMO – WAMENA (BLD)
Wake up and get your simple breakfast at the house. After breakfast, prepare yourself for our last 5 hours trekking back to Sogokmo. Climb the Hesegem Mountain and then down to Kurima before arriving Sogokmo. Meet with our driver at Sogokmo and transfer back to “civilization” of Wamena. Check in at hotel in wamena and take a rest after your expedition. Lunch will be served en-route, dinner served at local restaurant and overnight at Wamena Hotel.
DAY 07: WAMENA – JAYAPURA (BLD)
Breakfast and in appropriated time transfer to Wamena Airport for your flight back to Jayapura. Arrival at airport of Jayapura, You may have a full day sightseeing tour. The first destination is McArthur 2nd World War Monument. In here you will learn a little bit history of Douglas McArthur and the construction of Allies Base in Papua Island. Apart from the history, McArthur Monument also offers stunning views of nature. This place situated near to Sentani Lake, so tourists can see such beautiful tourist spot from the location. That stunning view of the sun makes the landmark looks beautiful! Somehow, it becomes a good object for photography as well. Afterward, we will drive to Sentani Lake and explore the biggest lake in Papua with the long boat. From the boat we can see the views of traditional houses and the life of fisherman who interesting to observe. For your info we can swim in the shallow part of the lake due the water is clean and comfortable. After lake exploring, we will stop at the Local restaurant and get your lunch with beautiful view of Lake Sentani. After lunch, continue the program to Museum Loka Budaya (Anthropology Museum) located inside of Cenderawasih University. Cenderawasih University’s recently redesigned cultural museum contains a fascinating range of Papuan artifacts including the best collection of Asmat carvings and ‘devil-dance’ costumes outside Agats. The museum also contains fine crafts from several other areas, historical photos and musical instruments. There’s also a collection of stuffed Papuan fauna, which includes a monitor lizard, a cuscus and some birds of paradise. Our last program would be visit the Hamadi Market. This central market is a perfect place for souvenir hunting and fresh fish shopping. Rows of Papua’s souvenir shops are easily spotted lining up at the roadside. Plenty of Papua’s handicrafts and artworks can be found inside the small shops. Afterward, direct transfer to your hotel inside of Jayapura. Dinner served at the hotel.
DAY 08: JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at hotel and proceed to airport for Depart to the next destination.
