Day 1 Airport โ Makassar (D)
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by one of our experience guide in the arrivals hall and privately transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Makassar โ Toraja Land (BLD)
Breakfast at the hotel, check out the process and meet with our guide to continue the journey for 8 hours to Tanah Toraja. During the trip you will enjoy the typical scenery of the highlands and the Bugis village with their traditional houses. We will stop for a rest while enjoying delicious coffee typical sulawesi. While drinking coffee, we will see a beautiful panorama from this place. Arrive in Toraja, direct transfer to hotel in Toraja. Lunch will be served en-route at local restaurant and Dinner served at hotel.
Day 3 Toraja Land (BLD)
After breakfast at Hotel, Today you will be taken on a full day excursion in Toraja. Start with a visit to the village of Lemo to see rows of Tau-Tau and the hanging graves. To get to the funeral site you need to follow a small muddy path from the village between rice paddy fields. The path ends suddenly at the base of a large cliff. At the base of the cliff are two small beautifully painted Tongkonan. After Lemo the program continue to Londa to visit the site features two natural caves where the bones of the deceased can be seen. As you enter the cave you will see skulls and bones scattered around on the floor and hanging from the ceiling. The ambiance can be quite intense, especially if you get easily scared. After lunch in a local restaurant in Rantepao visit the traditional Torajan village of Kete-Kesu, famous for its woodcarving, to see the Tongkonan and the old rice-barns. The final stop of the day will be made at Sadan, known as the traditional weaving center of Rantepao, heading back to hotel for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4 Toraja Land (BLD)
After breakfast, we will drive you to Marante village, which has a lot of Tongkonans, big paddy barns and big rocky hills those containing hanging stone graves which the local people called โErongโ. Next we will continue the program to the traditional kampong of Nanggala, we can see 4 big rice barns in a row with the curvy roof and carved walls those rice barn face with two traditional ex houses Nanggala king. Some of the carving shows a combination of modern and traditional themes. The last stop of the day will be made at the graveyard lies on one of the hillsides namely Suaya. It is carved as the resting place of the kings and king’s family; in conform to the Toraja King dresses, placed in front of stone grave. There are some stone steps to reach the hill, where the kings had their contemplation during their life, Heading back to hotel for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5 Rantepao โ Barruppu (BLD)
Breakfast at the hotel, check out the process and meet with our guide to continue the journey to Barruppu with 4 WD Jeep, On the way to Barruppu we will visit Batutumonga and Lokomata as our excursion. From Rantepao to Batutumonga you will pass Tinambayo, one of the famous viewpoints. Located 1,300 meters above sea level, it offers beautiful views of rice terraces and the valley below. Itโs worth stopping here even if it is just to take a few photos. On arrival at Batutumonga, enjoy relaxing ambiance, cool temperature, and beautiful views. On different viewpoints, you will discover the scenery is spectacular, and the most frequently seen scenery is a mixture of terraced rice fields, forests, and open grasslands. Afterward, drive to Loko โMata for the next destination. The first thing you see once you go through the entrance to Loโkoโ Mata is a large circular stone. There are more than 20 burial chambers carved into the large rock. Besides seeing a stone grave, you also walk around and stop at the view point and see the town of Rantepao from this place. Afterward, direct transfer to Baruppu and stay in local people house. Lunch served en-route with Picnic arrangement and dinner served at the local people house.
Day 6 Barruppu โ Rantepao (BLD)
Simple Breakfast at local people house, leave the house and explore the interesting place in Baruppu. Barruppu is a region in northern Toraja that is famous as a producer of Toraja coffee beans. Barruppu has a fertile soil, beautiful scenery and friendly locals. Most of the people here live from farming, and they often plant coffee, fruit, vegetables and others. During this trip you will be invited to the area of tiroan rice field. Here you can walk through the rice fields and see the locals farming. After tracing the rice fields, we will go to the Benteng Batu (stone fort). The fort is the place where Pong Tiku (national hero of Barruppu) fought against the Dutch army. After the historical tour, guests will be led down to 1 of 4 waterfalls located in Barruppu. Afterward, driva back to Rantepao for your next accommodation. Lunch served en-route with Picnic arrangement and dinner served at the hotel.
Day 7 Toraja Land โ Makassar (BLD)
After breakfast at Hotel transfer to airport Makassar for your next program. Lunch at Parepare and refreshment enroute.
Day 8 Makassar โ Airport (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, Free at your own leisure until itโs time to check out and pick up for transfer to Airport.
